About us

As a social enterprise, we seek to maximize benefits to society and the environment in an entrepreneurial way; because we love what we do and that’s what fuels us.

The air we breathe, the water we drink, and the soil we walk on are polluted. There are a number of ways to mitigate these pollutions. However, we tend to overlook, or worse ignore that simple, yet very effective solutions. That’s where we excel because we see these problems from a different perspective unearthing not only that simple but also innovative solutions as well.

At Quercus, we have integrated Sustainable Development Goals into our daily routines according to the direct and indirect impact we can engage in.

  • Goal 9. Industry, innovation, and infrastructure,
  • Goal 12. Responsible consumption and production,
  • Goal 13. Climate action,
  • Goal 15. Life on land, and
  • Goal 17. Partnerships to Achieve the Goal.

Solutions

We focus on

Ultrafine particles (UFP)

Quercus partnered with Van Wees Innovations to tackle air quality and unregulated Ultrafine particles or nanoparticles pollution in Mongolia.

Surveying meteorological conditions, mapping polluters, conducting air quality measurements, and identifying suitable solutions research studies have been carried out within the frame of the project in Ulaanbaatar…

Reducing vehicle emissions

We conduct a research study on reducing vehicle emissions depending on the type of vehicle and engine category.

Vehicles are the second-largest source of air pollution in the capital. Although solid fuel combustion is reduced during the warm season in the Ger area, researchers have found…

Reducing soil contamination

Soil pollution is another pressing issue of Ulaanbaatar, and it is heavily polluted by industrial emission, traffic, solid waste, coal combustion, and pit latrines in the Ger region. We are engaged in several projects including solid waste recycling, treatment, and wastewater management to address the waste environmental problem.

UFP or ultrafine particles are defined as particles with an aerodynamic diameter of 100 nanometers (nm) or 0.1 micrometers (μm) or less. They are a sub-fraction of the currently regulated…

Trees reduce 50%+ of particulate

Everyone knows trees reduce greenhouse gases and produce oxygen, but what impact do trees have on air pollutant concentrations. The efficacy of roadside trees for mitigation of PM needs to…
