It’s about a bridge, that at one point used to stretch over the Choluteca River in Honduras. The bridge’s ability to withstand extreme weather was celebrated. Yet it was rendered useless by a powerful hurricane that affected the surrounding land so severely that the river changed its course forever. Now the bridge is simply a piece of infrastructure known as the “Bridge to Nowhere”, straddling dry land, connecting nothing to nowhere.
It happened years ago. But the lesson from the bridge is more relevant to us today than ever before.
The bridge depicts an excellent metaphor for constant change that is inevitable and inescapable in our daily lives, careers, environment, and business. Adapt to change. Or else.
